MOVIE REVIEW: “Michael Clayton”

“Michael Clayton” (2007)

Directed/Written by: Tony Gilroy
Produced by: Sydney Pollack
Cinematography: Robert Elswit

Starring: George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Sydney Pollack, Michael O'Keefe

**** out of a possible 4 Stars

The producers should have stolen Paula Abdul’s “ We Like the Cars that Go Boom” song for their title. We also like the scripts that go boom. We liked everything about this film. As good as it gets in the crime thriller genre. Great cast, great script, you know there is quality everywhere when Sydney Pollack is on board, and our ever ultra-cool lead, George Clooney.

So who is Tony Gilroy? It’s hard to believe that this is his directorial debut! He’s got it down like a veteran pro. He co-wrote this as well (also wrote the “Bourne” Series—didn’t’ see them though). He is excellent. Great performances from everyone. This is all good. Go see it!
