It was really cool to see New York City three years after every person was gone—all the grass and weeds sprouting up among the cracks in the streets and sidewalks. Don’t get me wrong, I love New York, but the visuals of an abandoned New York were great.

The saddest part of the whole movie is when Will Smith accidentally shoots up one of the paintings on his living room wall. It isn’t just a painting, it is a Van Gogh, which I’m going to believe that Will Smith has taken out of the Metropolitan Museum (since there aren’t any people left—who cares) to drag home to hang on his wall. If it had value, it would be worth at least $100,000,000, but since there is no one left—there is no market value, just great intrinsic value. In fact, it’s the only thing in the movie that should have been saved. I forgot to mention Will was shooting at some fast moving zombie vampires in his house but missed them and got the painting instead.

Any finally, “I Am Legend” is really about Will Smith’s ability to generate huge amounts of money for any and all movies he stars in—it has made him a legend. This was really an edgy and mysterious movie for the first 6 minutes and 39 seconds. I took my mother to see this and she fell asleep. I tried amusing myself by fake gagging on popcorn to get anybody’s attention, but apparently everyone else in the movie theater was asleep. I put my iPod on to listen to music and text messaged everyone but nothing helped. Will should have blown himself up years earlier in this film.
